Students, doctoral students and employees of the FarU Universities are encouraged to participate in the 'Chess with Fahrenheit' competition. The event is, on the one hand, promotion of chess as a sport and, on the other, an encouragement to spend time with intellectual effort. The tournament will be commentated on in real-time by professional chess commentator and Fide Master Kacper Polok.

Are you a student, doctoral student or employee of universities affiliated with the Association of Fahrenheit Universities? Take part in the tournament, which will take place on October 26, 2022, from 17:00 to 20:00, in a virtual space - on the chess.com platform. It allows games to be played simultaneously in the Swiss system. After the tournament, each win will be checked by the platform to determine whether the player in question has used the chess engine.

To participate in the event, you must join the chess club on chess.com: https://www.chess.com/club/szachy-z-farenheitem and create an account on the platform (this takes about two minutes).

Game pace : 10 min + 0 sec.

There will be attractive prizes for the winners, such as books on chess or gadgets with logos.

The event is organised by the UG Student and Doctoral Activity Centre. The tournament will be held with the support of the UG Student Parliament, the UG Doctoral Council, the PG Student Government, the PG Doctoral Student Government and the GUMed Student Government.
