Establishing permanent research and didactic cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and the IT Technical Secondary School in Puck opens up a new field of activity: it allows students to use the resources, base and scientific events organised at the University of Gdańsk. For the University, it opens the door to further cooperation in improving the offer of secondary schools in Tricity.

The agreement concluded between the University of Gdańsk and the Maciej Płażyński Technical Secondary School of Information Technology in Puck covers, among other things, cooperation in terms of organising meetings between the University's teaching staff and the school's students, enabling teachers or the school's students to participate in free scientific conferences, open lectures, seminars and talks organised at the University, developing the talents of the school's students under the patronage of the University of Gdańsk, having the University's staff conduct classes for the school's students, enabling the school's students to cooperate with students and members of the University's student scientific clubs, and promoting the offer of postgraduate studies for the further training and professional development of teachers among the school's teachers.

The framework agreement was signed today, January 20, 2023, by UG Rector prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski and dr Piotr Szeląg, Vice President of the Board of the Positive Initiatives-Education Foundation.

The signing of the agreement between UG and the Maciej Płażyński Technical Secondary School of Information Technology in Puck is a step towards the next joint initiative, which is to create a new educational unit in the Tri-City area - an IT technical school.
