Prof. Małgorzata Książek Czermińska na wystawie „Pionierki, badaczki, liderki” koło Kościoła św. Katarzyny w Gdańsku.
Once again, as part of the 'Pioneers, Researchers, Leaders' exhibition, a talk on the role of women in science will be given by female scientists, this time from the University of Gdańsk. Please join us on March 27 at 5 p.m. in the University of Gdańsk Library gallery.
The journey of the exhibition entitled 'Pioneers, researchers, leaders. Women of Gdańsk Science' began in August 2022. The exhibition stood for two months near St Catherine's Church in Gdańsk. Since then, the exhibition has taken up residence at the Gdańsk Science Museum, the Medical University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Debates between Tricity scientists accompanied the change of venue. From the inaugural conversation between prof. dr hab. inż. Adriana Zaleska-Medynska, prof. dr hab. Maria Mendel and dr Aleksandra Brodecka-Goluch to the upcoming meeting at the University of Gdańsk Library gallery.
The upcoming debate will be attended by:
- Prof. dr hab. Anna Zielińska-Głębocka (Department of International Economics and Economic Development, Faculty of Economics, UG).
- Prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Książek Czermińska (Institute of Polish Philology, Faculty of Philology, UG)
- Dr hab. Anna Kłonkowska, prof. UG (Institute of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, UG)
Dr Maciej Goniszewski will moderate the debate.

In previous talks, participants discussed the difficulties faced by young female researchers and women as candidates for the position of rector. The latter topic, in particular, is likely to resonate clearly at the upcoming meeting, as prof. Małgorzata Książek Czermińska has gone down in UG history as the first female candidate for the post of Rector.
It is also worth mentioning that in February this year, the exhibition 'Pioneers. Researchers. Leaders. Women of Gdańsk Science' received the Grand Prize of the Fahrenheit Universities. Among other things, the competition's organisers drew attention to the inclusiveness of the project. The exhibition's creators, particularly members of the MINDtheGEPs project, provided an audio description for the visually impaired and an English translation of the exhibition.
We invite you to see the exhibition in the new light of the UG Library Gallery and in the excellent company of distinguished female academics of the University of Gdańsk on March 27 at 5 p.m.
