A team of University of Gdańsk employees participated in the Polish Higher Education Employees Volleyball Championship for the first time. Our debutants finished in 7th place.

On May 19—21, the VIII. Polish Championships of University Employees in Volleyball. The University of Gdańsk team participated in the three-day competition for the first time, with Natalia Skrzypkowska (CWFiS), Adam Miotk (CWFiS), Maciej Siwy (Legal Office), Marek Nuszel (administration), Maksymilian Biniakiewicz (printing) and three employees from the Faculty of Economics: Jakub Kwiatkowski, Tomasz Gutowski and Jacek Grodzicki.

After five matches played, the UG team took seventh place. For a debut in a competition of the rank of the Polish Championships and a short period of preparation (before the championships, we played only two training sessions), this is an excellent result. We did not miss much to fight for a place in the top five. Thirteen teams from academic centres from all over Poland competed.

The victory went to the staff of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, who, after an exciting match, won against a team from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Fourth place went to the team from Gdańsk University of Technology.
