- The staff members of the Research and Development Laboratory have engaged in research, development and service work in molecular diagnostics of bacterial plant pathogens for several years with commissions from Polish breeding companies and the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection (PIORiN) – says prof. dr hab. Ewa Łojkowska, Head of the Laboratory. – Please note that we are the first laboratory at the University of Gdańsk to be approved by the Polish Centre for Accreditation.

The first step towards PCA accreditation was obtaining a certificate of compliance with the ISO 17025 standard in March 2018. The accreditation is the result of several years of work of the Laboratory team supported under the EU HORIZON 2020 project “Structural Transformation to Attain Responsible BIOSciences” (STARBIOS2) and the European Regional Development Fund under the Innovation Incubator 2.0 Program.

The entire accreditation process including the preparation stage was financed under the Innovation Incubator 2.0 program implemented by the University of Gdańsk in a Consortium with the Gdańsk University of Technology, the Medical University of Gdańsk and Excento Sp. z o. o. under the non-competitive project “Support for management of scientific research and commercialization of the results of R&D works in scientific units and enterprises”, Intelligent Development Operational Program 2014-2020 (Measure 4.4).
