For the first time, alums of the International Business undergraduate programme at the Faculty of Economics celebrated their graduation from the course at a gala. The graduation ceremony took place on July 28 this year.
'The awarding of diplomas crowns a certain stage in your life. A stage that is important because you have devoted three years not only to your studies, which are the basis for your further career path and development, but also, and perhaps most importantly, to building relationships,' said Vice-Rector for International Cooperation dr hab. Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, prof. UG. 'As individuals, you obviously have a certain agency, but working together as a team, you can do virtually everything.'
The graduation ceremony is a valuable opportunity for students to meet their professors, classmates and friends again and to maintain tradition by donning a toga and biretta. It is a time to reflect on the knowledge, skills and relationships gained during their time at the Faculty of Economics.
For first-degree International Business graduates, this is the first opportunity to celebrate their graduation from the faculty solemnly. Until now, this type of event has only been held for Master's students.
'At this extraordinary ceremony, we will proudly present diplomas and awards, recognising your exceptional dedication and remarkable achievements throughout your academic journey. It will be an evening full of pride, joy and a well-deserved celebration of your hard work and success,' announced the event Head of the course dr Renata Orłowska.
Each year, the International Business first degree recruits up to 100 applicants. Over the course of three years, students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for professional work in analysing international economic and social phenomena, taking into account cultural differences, and have the opportunity to obtain an international certificate in the London Stock Exchange Group Eikon Lab.
After completing the course, graduates are ready to take positions such as market development specialist, junior import and export specialist, market analyst or data analyst.
