University of Gdańsk in THE WUR 2024
The University of Gdańsk was ranked in THE WUR, as it was last year, in the 1201–1500 range, but is very close to moving up. Our university improved its score in most criteria (Teaching, Research Quality, International Outlook), and we were best rated in terms of International Outlook.
‘We are continuously and dynamically developing in virtually all academic areas – including those subject to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 survey,' said Rector UG prof. Piotr Stepnowski. ‘The best example that we are acting effectively is the analysis of data from both major international databases – Scopus and Web of Science – which confirms the increase in the quality of publications, as evidenced by the values of citation indices. In the last two years, publications by the University of Gdańsk authors indexed in international databases have been cited more often than the average citation rate for publications in a given discipline worldwide. This is the result of the work of our excellent academic staff, for which I am grateful,' added the rector.
