QSAR Lab company, University of Gdańsk spin-off, established by the researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk, received the award at the ‘Pomeranian Economic Griffin 2020’ competition, for the Startup category.
QSAR Lab binds scientific environment and business environment together, offering specialized services in computational chemistry and toxicology. The company specializes in developing applicative Cheminformatics tools by implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning methods.
QSAR Lab participates in five B+R projects, mainly assessing the safety of nanomaterials (PATROLS, RiskGONE, NanoSolveIT, CompSafeNano, DIAGONAL), financed under the EU HORIZON 2020 framework program.
The ‘Economic Griffin’ is a significant and highly regarded prize in Pomerania, which has been awarded continuously since the year 2000. The competition is organized by the Pomeranian Council of Entrepreneurship, which associates representatives of regional business environment and serves advisory role to the Marshal of the Pomeranian Province.
The current edition received 70 submissions from the entire Pomeranian Province.
Due to coronavirus pandemic, the final gala took place later than usual and the results were announced online, on the YouTube channel and on Facebook.
