Dr Szolc-Nartowski

Dr Bartosz Szolc-Nartowski of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk has become a member of the Praesidium of the National Council of Legal Advisers for the 11th office term and the Chairman of the Application Committee at the National Council.

Detailed competencies of the Presidium of the National Council of Legal Advisers defined in the Act and internal acts, i.e. the act of the National Congress of Legal Advisers, the act of the National Council of Legal Advisers and the act of the Praesidium itself. The statutory competence of the Praesidium is to act as an appeal body against the resolutions of regional chambers of legal advisers. The Praesidium considers appeals against resolutions, such as the suspension of the right to practise as a legal adviser, entry on the list of legal advisers, entry on the list of trainee legal advisers or an appeal to remove a trainee legal adviser from the list of trainee legal advisers. In addition, the Praesidium considers appeals against other resolutions of regional chambers of legal advisors.

Dr Szolc-Nartowski, assistant professor at the Roman Law Unit of the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, also became Chairman of the Application Committee at the National Council of Legal Advisers. The main tasks of the Application Committee include exercising the powers set out in the regulations governing the course of legal adviser training, as well as analysing the training model to modernise it to meet the needs of professional education, and submitting relevant motions and recommendations to the Presidium of the National Council of Legal Advisers and Members of the National Council of Legal Advisers.
