The new Strategic Plan for the Intercultural Integration of Migrants for the Pomeranian Voivodeship is based on the recommendations contained in the report ‘Migration situation in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Conclusions and Recommendations on Integration of Migrants’, prepared by dr Rafał Raczyński from the Institute of Political Science, UG, and dr Michał Nowosielski, prof. WSB Merito. Both documents will help to standardise regional migration policy measures.

‘The document presents the most important data on the presence of migrant persons in our voivodeship and provides recommendations for their integration into the regional community,’ explains dr Rafał Raczyński, a member of the Pomeranian Council for Regional Migration Policy. ‘It contains information on the number of residence statuses granted in recent years, the presence of migrants in the Pomeranian labour market, the number of students with migration experience attending Pomeranian schools, or the situation of war refugees from Ukraine.’

The Board of the Pomeranian Voivodeship adopted the ‘Strategic Plan...’ on April 23, 2024; the document was accompanied by a report by dr Rafał Raczyński and WSB Merito prof. Michał Nowosielski.

‘It is worth noting that the document is the first study to include such a wide range of data on migrant women and migrants in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Thanks to their analysis, it became possible not only to capture certain migration trends that are visible in Pomerania but also to develop key recommendations for a systemic approach to the integration process of migrants in our region,’ continues dr Rafał Raczyński. ‘What is important, the conclusions and recommendations resulting from our diagnosis have been included in the Strategic Plan for Intercultural Integration of Migrants for the Pomorskie Voivodeship.’

The main objective of regional integration activities is to achieve an efficient and transparent system of intercultural integration of people with migration experience residing in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, based on the principles of equality, diversity, and positive interaction.
