On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the first meeting of the newly elected Council of the University of Gdańsk took place. During the meeting, Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, UG Rector presented to the members of the Council the actions taken recently by the University authorities and plans for the near future.
The meeting also discussed in detail the challenges facing the university in terms of financial management, scientific activity evaluation policy and cooperation with the economic environment.
During the meeting, mgr Marzena Wojtaszko, UG Quaestor, presented to the participants the most important tasks of the Council for the near future in terms of approving the in-kind expenditure plan until the adoption of the in-kind and financial plan and updating last year's in-kind and financial plan. The members of the Council also discussed the possible consequences of the announced legislative changes in the area of parameterisation and the possibilities of launching a programme for raising funds from external entities.
During the meeting, the members of the University Council also unanimously undertook a resolution recommending that the UG Senate appoint Prof. Maciej Duszczyk a President of the Council.
