The reissue of the novel 'The Kashubian Madonna', a meeting in Professor Jerzy Limon's library at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre, and exceptional performances - the LIMONiada, a series of events dedicated to Professor Jerzy Limon, founder of the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre and Theatre in the Window, is being launched in Gdańsk.
A historian, theatre scholar, translator of English literature, essayist and writer, Professor Jerzy Limon is an exceptional figure not only for our University, but also for the whole of Gdańsk. He conducted research on Elizabethan theatre and his field of interest included the 17th century Elizabethan scene in Gdańsk. Prof. Limon's academic passions were reflected in his organisational activities - the culmination of which was the creation (thanks to, among other things, the Theatrum Gedanense Foundation established by the professor) of the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre, whose first artistic season was initiated in 2014. Professor Limon's work also includes Theatre in the Window, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
LIMONiada is a series of events dedicated to the extraordinary creator of both theatres. We invite you to visit these venues between May 25 and 27 - if only for a stroll through the Main Town. The first of the planned attractions - the performance ‘Shakespeare on the Catwalk’ - can be seen at the Theatre in the Window this Saturday.
