The University of Gdańsk is preparing for its 50th-Jubilee termination celebrations. In connection with the pandemic and the restrictions in force, as well as with regard to employee safety, the Rector, prof. Piotr Stepnowski has decided that the 50th-anniversary medals for persons of particular merit to the university will be presented at various faculties on different days.

- 'I regret that we cannot meet and celebrate with the staff and friends of the university at the end of the Jubilee and the 51st-anniversary of the establishment of the university. On March 19, you will be able to watch a prepared coverage of the celebrations that took place in the faculties,' - said the Rector, prof. Piotr Stepnowski.

The Rector, in agreement with the faculties' authorities, decorated the employees of the University of Gdańsk who had particularly distinguished themselves for the development of the university with the medal of the 50th-anniversary of UG. The first ceremonies were held at the Faculty of Economics and the Centre for Foreign Languages of the University of Gdańsk. These honourable mentions were also received by Senior Rectors prof. Zbigniew Grzonka, prof. Marcin Pliński, prof. Andrzej Ceynowa and prof. Bernard Lammek.
