Cooperation with the University of Montenegro

The University of Gdansk has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Montenegro. According to the signatories, it will increase educational and research opportunities for students and lecturers of both universities.

Montenegro as Region 1 (Western Balkans) is currently on the list of Erasmus KA107 partner countries.

- There are currently no restrictions related to academic mobility. - emphasises Prof. Krzysztof Bielawski, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Cooperation with the Socio-Economic Environment. - The region received a lot of funding in this year's competition, which means that the University of Montenegro is a very attractive partner for us.

Professor Anna Maria Jurkowska-Zeidler, UG Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, emphasises that the signing of the agreement is very important for the success of joint grants applied for by both universities: - We intend to strengthen this cooperation by engaging in our international activities, publications or joint conferences - she adds.

International cooperation between the two universities will be implemented through staff and student exchanges, sharing of good practices in university management, administration and research and teaching methods. In addition, the universities will organise joint research projects, curriculum courses, symposia, seminars and conferences.

The cooperation agreement also covers the exchange of publications, materials and information for scientific, educational and informational purposes.

Both universities plan to jointly apply for financial support from national and international organisations for activities and exchanges. The cooperation agreement is for a period of five years with an option to renew for another five.

The agreement on the part of the University of Gdansk was signed by Rector Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, and on the part of the University of Montenegro by Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Sanja Peković, Vice Rector for International Cooperation.
