Registration for Docs Against Gravity Academy of Documentary Film is now open!

Among the many ways to pass a university-wide lecture, the Academy of Documentary Film course definitely stands out. As part of the course, participants will watch the most outstanding documentary films of recent years, and then take part in a lecture and discussion about the screenings. At the same time, in the case of receiving a positive grade, the student or PhD student may transfer it to the index as a grade from the UG general lecture.

The topics of the films are diverse: from a documentary on artificial intelligence 'IHuman' (2019) to a record of human life on the edge of civilisation - 'Buklioka'(2021). Most of the Documentary Film Academy screenings are premieres. Each person attending regularly will receive a certificate of completion of the Docs Against Gravity Academy of Documentary Film.

The date of the film's viewing is arbitrary, participants receive online access at vod.mdag.pl seven days before the lecture, which will be held remotely on the MS Teams platform on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. The classes are run by Krystyna Weiher-Sitkiewicz, a culture animator and public relations specialist. The course can be completed with an analysis of one of the discussed films in the form of a text or video clip.

Registration for the classes started on February 8 and will last until March 1. Anyone interested may sign up by sending an e-mail to Przemek Rydzewski (przemek@againstgravity.pl), who is the project coordinator. Participation in the classes involves a fee of PLN 150. The order of payments made will determine the order of enrolment.

It is also possible to buy a pass without registration to participate in classes as a free listener. Confirmation of payment should be sent to: przemek@againstgravity.pl
