The General Meeting of the newly selected Members of the Polish Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), held remotely on May 11th of the current year, selected dr. hab. prof. UG Waldemar Surosz to serve as the Chairman of the Polish Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research PAN for 2020-2023 term.

Professor Waldemar Surosz has served as a Dean of the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography since 2012. He has also been a Chairman of the Polish Phycological Society since 2014. He is a Head of UG Department of Marine Biology and Ecology, Institute of Oceanography.
