Eight participants of the Erasmus+ KA107 programme from Caucasus University and two participants from the I. Franko National University of Lviv were hosted by the University of Gdańsk as part of a training course on the internationalisation of universities and modern forms of promotion and project management.
The training participants' stay began on 21.06.2022 with a meeting at the Faculty of Law and Administration, opened by the Dean's Proxy for International Cooperation, dr hab. Edwards Juchnevicius, prof. UG. The experiences of the three universities were discussed, and the scope and functioning of the administrative division at the WPiA was presented. The ladies were able to familiarise themselves with the operation of the FAST system, learn about the standards of student services at the Faculty, and how certificates and diplomas are issued. In the Dean's Office, our guests had the opportunity to see the work of the secretariats of the Faculties and the Faculty Project Office. The meeting ended with a short tour of the Faculty and the Main Library by WPiA staff.
On the following day, 22.06.2022, the programme participants met with Katarzyna Flis and Ewa Chmurzyńska, representatives of the International Cooperation Office. The meeting started with a short presentation about our University, the region, as well as cooperation and international projects carried out at the University of Gdańsk. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion for the guests. The International Cooperation Office also took care of organising a tour of the Oliwa Campus, and the highlight of the programme was a visit to the Faculty of Biology, where our guests had the opportunity to see the resources of the Museum of Inclusion in Amber. The museum tour was guided by dr Elżbieta Sontag.
On the last day of the visit, 23.06.2022, the guests were received by dr Tatiana Kananovich at the Institute of Russian and Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Philology. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the experience of international cooperation and the possibility of exchanging staff and students. There was also an exchange of experience on how to conduct activities aimed at effectively raising the level of internationalisation at our universities, and the structures of our institutions were discussed, with particular emphasis on the persons and roles of those responsible for internationalisation.
