The key question today is how to continue helping Ukraine wisely, so that Polish universities play a strategic role in rebuilding its higher education system. This is a great opportunity for true reconciliation between our countries, building on the tremendous good that has already occurred in recent months.
Prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the University of Gdańsk, talks about the activities carried out by the University of Gdańsk for Ukraine especially for the Academic Newsletter.
The University has addressed most of the challenges we faced after February 24, 2022, in support of Ukraine and refugees very well. Our students and staff organised the relief effort with lightning speed. We carried out many activities for Ukrainian refugees: in-kind and cash collections, fairs, assistance in organising life in the Tricity for Ukrainian citizens, activities for children and adults, psychological and material support, which we also extended to Ukrainian students already studying with us, hosting refugees in private homes, etc.
