'My studies for the planet. The invigorating element of the wind and the sea' - awarding prizes in a regular Instagram competition @filologicznyug

At a recent meeting of the University of Gdańsk for the Offshore Wind Energy team, the Instagram competition of the UG Faculty of Philology for students and secondary school students of the Pomeranian Voivodeship 'My studies for the planet. The invigorating element of wind and sea'.

The prizes were personally collected by the high school laureates: Paulina Kankowska (first prize), Zofia Panek (second prize) and Anna Mach (third prize).

UG student laureates Ignacy Kitłowski (1st prize), Jona Śliwowska (2nd prize) and Łucja Szczepanik (3rd prize) received their awards at a later date due to ongoing credits.

The prizes were presented to the winners by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, prof. UG, and the Vice-Dean for Education and Cooperation with the Environment of the Faculty of Philology, dr hab. Joanna Jereczek-Lipińska, prof. UG.

‘We appreciated the creative approach to the topic of all the participants, expressed both in poetic (which appeared in abundance in the competition entries) and prose form,’ says prof. Joanna Jereczek-Lipińska, the competition initiator. ‘We are pleased that all the participants found genuine inspiration in the difficult maritime subject and revealed their sensitivity and perception of the contemporary world. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the photos, testifying to the photographic talents of many participants.’

The meeting was an opportunity to thank the winners, sponsors and partners for their fruitful cooperation on this project, which promotes the University of Gdańsk’s support for renewable energy sources, as well as the work of students and, we hope, future students of the University of Gdańsk.
