Female academics from UG: dr Beata Karpińska-Musiał, prof. UG, dr Hanna Furmańczyk, dr Aleksandra Walewska and mgr Dorota Brzezińska attended an LTTA (Learning, Teaching and Training Activities) seminar in Portugal. The aim of the two-day workshop was to promote gender-sensitive education in entrepreneurship and technology, especially for educators in STEM subjects.
The meeting was linked to UG's implementation of the HerTechVenture project, an international project led by the Perspektywy Foundation. The training was attended by representatives of academic staff from five countries: Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain and Portugal.
HerTechVenture focuses on supporting young women studying subjects in the STEM fields, helping them to develop their entrepreneurial skills and preparing them to start a career in the technology industry. The aim of the project is to strive to increase the representation of women in the technology field and create equal opportunities for career success.
The HerTechVenture project manager on the UG side is dr Hanna Furmańczyk from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.
