Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin appointed Doctor Sławomir Antkiewicz from the Department of International Business at the University of Gdańsk to the Council of the National Center for Research and Development.

The Council consists of thirty representatives of the scientific, socio-economic and financial community and the representatives of individual ministries (usually deputy ministers). The duties of the Council members include defining priority areas of research, commercialization of research results, determining the conditions for grant competitions, budgeting funds allocated to them and announcing competitions. The mission of the National Center for Research and Development is supporting Polish scientific centres and businesses in developing their potential for creating and implementing research-based solutions to boost the economy.
