Meeting with scientists specialising in 'in vitro' and 'in vivo' research

It's time for the third meeting organised under the 'Excellence Initiative - Research University' programme, where scientists specialising in in vivo and in vitro research talk about their work. The theme of the meeting, which starts on March 4, at 13:00, is 'TAZD-CBU as a leader of in vivo research projects of Tri-City universities'.

The Tri-City Academic Animal Experimental Station - Research and Service Centre (TAZD-CBU) is a facility created on the initiative of the Medical University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk University of Technology. It is a place where qualified specialists deal with, among other things, in vivo research on animals such as mice and rats. One of the speakers at the third meeting of in vivo and in vitro research specialists will be the director of TAZD-CBU, vet Grażyna Peszyńska-Sularz. She will give a lecture entitled 'TAZD-CBU as a leader of in vivo research projects of Tri-City universities'.

The next speaker will be prof. dr hab. Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska, director of the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Studies (ICCVS). Her part of the meeting will concern in vivo research on the way to understanding pathogenesis and developing new therapeutic solutions for human diseases.

Gdańsk University of Technology will be represented at the meeting by prof. dr hab. inż. Paweł Sachadyn, who is the head of the Laboratory of Regenerative Biotechnology. The topic of his lecture will be the epigenetic activation of regeneration, i.e. change in the regulation of expression of regeneration-determining genes, occurring without a change in the genome sequence.

The last lecture will be given by dr hab. Ewelina Król, prof. UG, dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and GUMed. Her lecture will concern recombinant virus-like particles as potential vaccine antigens.

The meeting will start on March 4, at 13:00 and will end at 14:30. Due to the ongoing epidemiological situation, the event will be held in the form of a webinar using the Clickmeeting platform. Registration takes place via the form.

The official institutional patron of the meeting is the Medical University of Gdańsk, the honorary patron is the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, prof. Marcin Gruchała. The series of meetings has also received honorary patronage of the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk.
