We will learn about the past activities of the Centre for Teaching Excellence and Tutoring at the University of Gdańsk as early as May 30, 2022. The unit conducts various courses on new teaching techniques for lecturers at our and other universities. As part of the 'Viva Dydaktyka w UG!' event, there will also be an author's meeting with the Deputy Director of CDDiT dr Beata Karpińska-Musiał, who will talk about her book 'Harcowanie na planie. Her-story of becoming a mother-academic in a Polish university'.
The activities of the CDDiT are varied. In the summer semester of 2021/2022 alone, the Centre organised a webinar 'Like a phoenix from the ashes', conducted an online training on time management and grading tables and prepared workshops on public speaking as well as conflict resolution.
During the meeting, which starts on May 30 at 4 p.m. at the University of Gdańsk Library, representatives of the unit will talk about the progress made so far, present the results of the teacher survey and talk about plans for the next academic year. The event is organised under the patronage of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, prof. UG.
After the official part of the event, participants will have the opportunity to listen to the individual experiences of academic teachers. At the beginning of this year, a book by dr Beata Karpińska-Musiał entitled 'Harcowanie na planie. Her-story of becoming a mother academic at a Polish university' hit the shelves of bookstores. In it, the author talks about how to combine the work of a scientist-didactician with raising three children.
- 'The primary purpose of my book is to describe and observe the transformation of my own academic identity through the prism of multiple international and family experiences over the past thirty years,' - writes dr Beata Karpińska-Musiał.
The meeting with the author will be hosted by dr Jarosław Jendza.
We invite you to confirm your attendance through the registration form.
