Dr Magdalena Jaś-Nowopolska with Herbert Stolzenberg Research Award for Excellent Academic Achievement

The Herbert-Stolzenberg Prize was awarded to dr Magdalena Jaś-Nowopolska for her scientific research on the legal conditions of freedom of doing business in Poland and Germany and the impact of the European integration process on economic relations in these countries. This was carried out jointly with the Faculty of Law and Administration of the UG as part of a scientific project entitled 'Freedom of economic activity in Polish and German legal culture - a comparative perspective'.

The recognised scientific achievement concerned research conducted by dr Magdalena Jas-Nowopolska as part of a scientific project entitled 'Freedom of economic activity in Polish and German legal culture - a comparative perspective', which was led on the Polish side by dr Hanna Wolska.

In the course of the project, scientific research was carried out on the legal conditions of business freedom in Poland and Germany and the impact of the European integration process on economic relations in these countries. A scientific debate was also organised, an internet platform was launched, the "Polish-German Forum for the Exchange of Legal Thought", and a scientific publication summarising the reflections undertaken by representatives of Polish and German law academia was published, of which, among others, Dr Magdalena Jas-Nowopolska was the editor.

The Dr Herbert Stolzenberg Prize is awarded every two years for outstanding research in the social, economic and legal sciences at the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen. It is awarded to scholars who stand out for their excellent research achievements and exceptional commitment to their disciplines.
