The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Scientific Society would like to invite you on 17.11.2022 at 6 pm to a meeting with prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Omilanowska-Kiljańczyk, winner of the Jan Hevelius Science Prize of the City of Gdańsk for 2021. A week later - on 24.11.2022 - a meeting with the second laureate - prof. Ewa Łojkowska - will be held.
Prof. Małgorzata Omilanowska - Kiljańczyk received the award for 2021 in the category of humanities and social sciences, for outstanding achievements at home and abroad in the field of art sciences. The award winner will deliver a lecture entitled: 'Was Vitruvius right? Should architecture be useful, beautiful and, above all, sustainable?'
Prof. Omilanowska's life and passion will be discussed by dr Jacek Kołtan - PhD in philosophy, academic lecturer and plenipotentiary of the Director for Scientific Affairs of the European Solidarity Centre.
The meeting will be hosted by Radio Gdańsk journalist Beata Szewczyk, and the musical setting will be provided by Mikołaj Trzaska.

This year, for the first time in the history of the Jan Hevelius Science Prize, both categories were won by female scientists (and both from the University of Gdańsk) - in the humanities and social sciences category, prof. Małgorzata Omilanowska, and in the natural sciences and sciences category, prof. dr hab. Ewa Łojkowska.
