The University of Gdańsk Main Library hosted a celebration of the new library system implementation in the FarU Libraries and the Library of the European Solidarity Centre.

On March 14, 2024, a ceremonial meeting to summarise the implementation of the new Alma library system and the Primo search engine in the Libraries of FarU (the University of Gdańsk Library, the Gdańsk University of Technology Library, and the Main Library of the Medical University of Gdańsk) and the European Solidarity Centre was held at the University of Gdańsk Main Library on March 14. The University of Gdańsk authorities were represented by the Chancellor dr hab. inż. Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek, prof. Among the guests were representatives of Aleph Polska, the distributor of Ex Libris products (including Alma system), headed by the President of the Board Maciej Dziubecki.

During the meeting, UG Library Director Roman Tabisz thanked the directors and coordinators of the individual libraries for participating in the implementation process and shared some reflections about the new system. The participants had the opportunity to play the 'Human bingo' game and visit the Main Library by solving riddles in a field game.

The participants then listened to presentations by representatives of the FarU Libraries: BUG Director Roman Tabisz, MUG Main Library Director Katarzyna Falow, BUG System Librarian Marzena Jeżowska and GdańskTech Library Digital and Multimedia Collection Construction Section Manager Robert Szczodruch.
