Eleven films from all over Europe and eleven different perspectives on the world, life and culture. A screening of the best audiovisual productions made at SEA-EU partner universities is coming soon! On December 4 at 5:00 p.m., the SEA-EU Film Festival will kick off at the UG Library! The film that will be screened includes the grand prize winning film: Metal-Girl, directed by UG student Paweł Golonka.
The main objective of the SEA-EU Film Festival is to promote the artistic work of students and give young talents the space to present their films in front of an international audience. In November, selected films were presented at the University of Split during Art Staff Week ( November 5-7, 2024), where they were evaluated by an international jury consisting of experts from all SEA-EU member universities.
The screening in Gdansk will feature the best short films of the festival. This is a unique opportunity to see the work of young filmmakers from all over Europe, to experience their perspective and to take part in the cultural integration promoted by SEA-EU. Surprises prepared by the organisers will await the audience of the SEA-EU Film Festival.

Who is the organiser of the competition?
SEA-EU is part of the largest educational programme in Europe, which is developing a new dimension in higher education. As part of the European Commission's European Universities initiative, 9 coastal European universities form the SEA-EU consortium. The partners in the alliance are the University of Cadiz, the University of West Brittany, the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel, the University of Gdansk, the University of Split and the University of Malta in Valletta. In January 2023, new universities were admitted to the alliance: the University of Algarve, the University of Parthenope in Naples and the University of the Nord.
SEA-EU aims to create an inter-university campus where students, PhD students, staff and researchers can move freely. A new model of education and academic exchange is being developed that will enhance the competitiveness of European higher education, ensure the mobility of students and staff, and ensure the highest quality of education and research. All activities also disseminate the objectives of sustainable development and European values such as respect for human rights and human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law.
Organisers: SEA-EU European University of the Seas, Andrzej Wajda Film Centre UG.
The event is co-financed by the European Union.
