The AZS University of Gdańsk team placed third in the semi-finals of the Polish Academic Men's Futsal Championships. The final tournament will take place in the last week of February in Poznań.

Semi-final A of the Polish Academic Championships was held on 4-7.02.2021 in Toruń. The University of Gdańsk was one of three universities representing the community of Gdańsk in the competition. In the city of Nicolaus Copernicus, there were also representatives of the Gdańsk University of Technology and AWFiS Gdańsk. Ultimately, the UG team will be the only one from our area to compete in the final tournament.
In the group stage, the University of Gdańsk defeated UKW Bydgoszcz 5:1 and tied with PUSS Piła 4:4. These results allowed the team to advance to the quarter-finals with first place, where the University of Szczecin was waiting for them. In the match for advancing to the top four, the players of Coach Wojciech Pawicki won confidently 5:2. The winning march was interrupted in the semi-finals, where the UG team had to acknowledge the superiority of the later triumpher of the competition, KJ TSW Toruń. In the match for the third place (the last one to qualify for the AMP Finals), a derby of Gdańsk took place. In the fratricidal duel, the UG players turned out to be better, who defeated "Polibuda" 5:2 and they were the ones who received passports to Poznań.
