Creating a platform for the exchange of experiences and good practices, as well as making an attempt to examine current trends and directions of development of open science in Poland - this is the main objective of the 4th Pomeranian Conference Open Science - sharing research data, which will be held on April 14-16, 2021.
The subject of Open Science is becoming more and more widespread. Both making research results available in the form of publications and research data is increasingly a requirement of institutions and research funding agencies. Numerous recommendations, good practices and policies for implementing Open Access are being developed.
The conference aims to gather and present experiences of various Polish universities and scientific institutes in opening research data from different scientific disciplines. In particular, we will present the experience of universities implementing the MOST DANYCH project - the Gdańsk University of Technology, the Medical University of Gdańsk and the University of Gdańsk, where the project is carried out both by teams of librarians and IT specialists creating tools for data sharing - a data repository, and scientists sharing their research results in the form of Open Research Data. The organisers aim to compare both the adopted solutions with those adopted in other research centres, as well as to exchange experiences.
Among the topics to be presented at the conference are:
- Organisational and legal aspects of research data sharing
- Tools and repositories for research data
- Data Stewardship and its professionalisation
- Research data sharing across scientific disciplines
- Projects and initiatives supporting research data sharing
The conference is aimed at librarians, IT specialists and representatives of other university departments involved in the process of research data management and sharing, as well as at the scientists themselves, who make their research results available in the form of data.
The conference is co-financed by the project 'MOST DANYCH – Multidyscyplinarny Otwarty System Transferu Wiedzy – etap II: Open Research Data', co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Digital Poland 2014-2020.
