Time for international cooperation! The second edition of the Research Potential Database has launched

The University of Gdańsk invites researchers to participate in the SEA-EU Research Potential Database competition, which aims to encourage the establishment or strengthening of scientific, research and teaching cooperation between SEA-EU partner universities using information available in the Research Potential Database, created as part of the project.

What is the aim of the competition? The initiative will select the best international projects, which must be innovative and interdisciplinary in nature, refer to European values and take into account the sustainable development goals enshrined in the SEA-EU alliance's mission.

What must be the outcome of the competition? The result of a project submitted to the competition must be the fulfilment of one of the following conditions during the competition period:

  • submission of a joint application to one of the programmes of Polish research funding institutions,
  • submission of an application under the Seed Funds programmes offered by SEA-EU partner universities.

Who can participate in the initiative? Project applicants may be academic teachers employed at the University of Gdańsk as their primary place of work in the group of research and teaching or research staff. Submitted projects must involve at least one researcher from the University of Gdańsk and at least one researcher from a foreign university from the SEA-EU consortium who are members of research groups registered in the Research Potential Database and Shared Infrastructure Database for the SEA-EU Alliance | SEA-EU.

What is the prize? The selected projects will receive funding to cover the costs of two mobilities of University of Gdańsk employees within the SEA-EU universities, i.e. University of Cádiz (Spain), University of Western Brittany (France), Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel (Germany), University of Split (Croatia) and University of Malta in Valletta (Malta), University of Algarve (Portugal), Parthenope University of Naples (Italy) and Nord University (Norway).

How to apply? Each person entering the recruitment process is required to complete the registration form and submit an application form by 28 February 2026.

Schedule:

  • 28 February 2026: Deadline for submitting applications
  • 15 March 2026: Announcement of the results of the recruitment process
  • 1 April 2026 - 31 August 2026: Mobility period
  • by 31 August 2026: Submission of the grant implementation report
  • by 14 September 2026: Submission of financial documents for mobility settlement
