Among the projects that received funding in the latest Horizon Europe programme competitions were four projects co-implemented by the University of Gdańsk. The prestigious grants will help finance research in the areas of counteracting authoritarianism through democratic action, judicial independence and the rule of law in the European Union, protecting biodiversity and counteracting the degradation of marine ecosystems in Europe, and adapting digital objects to FAIR principles. The total amount of funding for the University of Gdańsk is over €917,000 (over PLN 3.7 million), and the total value of the projects is over €27 million.

The European Union's Horizon Europe Framework Programme is the largest research and innovation programme in the history of the EU. Over seven years (2021-2027), more than €93 billion will be allocated to cutting-edge research and innovative solutions.
