After a two-year break, it is time for another edition of the InfoGlob scientific conference. Between June 7–9, economists and business practitioners will be able to present the results of their research, and the papers delivered at the event will be published in prestigious economic journals. Registration lasts until March 18.

The first edition of InfoGlob was held in 2008. Within the framework of this event, experts delivered papers on one of the most important phenomena of that time - globalisation. During subsequent editions of the Conference of the Chair of Maritime Transport and Trade, discussions were held on key changes in the maritime and world economy. Over time, a fixed conference programme has evolved - three thematic sessions and one plenary session.

The theme of this year's InfoGlob is 'Sustainable Development and the Modern Economy'. During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to take part in one of three panels, which will deal with various aspects of implementing sustainable development goals.

- 'Our panels have been arranged in such a way that each participant will be able to find himself in one of the sessions and present the results of his research. The moderators will be scientists from the University of Gdańsk, Warsaw University of Technology and Gdynia Maritime University,' - said dr Adam Borodo, Chairman of the InfoGlob 2022 Organising Committee.

The first panel, socio-economic, will be a place to exchange ideas on the sustainable development of enterprises and new technologies in economic sectors. The theme of the second is sustainable development goals and the environment, while during the last meeting the participants will discuss issues related to new information and communication technologies.

Since the last few editions of the conference of the Department of Transport and Maritime Trade has been held on board the Stena Spirit ferry, which runs between Gdynia and Karlskrona, thanks to which the event offers not only knowledge but also cultural and tourist values. On the second day, InfoGlob 2022 participants will visit Copenhagen - a city with rich culture and great economic potential. The Danish capital is a frontrunner when it comes to achieving environmental sustainability goals. In 2016, more of the city's residents opted for a bicycle than a car, and by 2025, the Danes plan to raise the share of bicycles in Copenhagen's overall transport system to 50%.

Registration for the event lasts until March 18. The cost of participation in the conference is 2100 zł. More information on the conference website.

InfoGlob 2022 is organised by the Department of Transport and Maritime Trade of the University of Gdańsk in cooperation with the Faculty of Building Installations, Hydrotechnics and Environmental Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Faculty of Management and Quality Sciences of the Maritime University in Gdynia. The honorary patron of the event is prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of UG.
