Znikanie by Izabela Morska nominated to the Pomeranian Literary Award

After reading nearly 290 items published in Pomerania or written by Pomeranian authors in 2019, the Jury of the Pomeranian Literary Award Wiatr od morza nominated Znikanie by Dr Izabela Morska from the Faculty of Languages UG for the Literary Book of the Year award.

The Jury of the Pomeranian Literary Award Wiatr od morza: prof. dr hab.  Zbigniew Majchrowski, Bożena Orczykowska, Elżbieta Pękała, dr hab. Katarzyna Szalewska and Władysław Zawistowski announced nominations for the Pomeranian Literary Award for 2019 on 3 September 2020. Znikanie by dr Izabela Morska from the Institute of English and American Studies of the University of Gdańsk is among the nominated books in the Literary Book of the Year category.

Earlier this year, on 30 June 2020, the latest novel by Izabela Morska was also nominated for the ANGELUS 2020 Central European Literary Award. The Jury chose 14 out of 131 titles, five of which were written by Polish writers. The books nominated for Angelus were selected by the Jury: Mykoła Riabczuk (chairperson), Marcin Cieński, Urszula Glensk, Ryszard Krynicki, Anna Nasiłowska, Małgorzata Szpakowska and Piotr Śliwiński. The winner of Angelus 2020 will be announced on 17 October 2020 during the joint gala of Angelus and the SILESIUS Wrocław Poetry Award. Recently, on 4 September, seven finalists were announced, including Mikołaj Łoziński’s Stramer published by Wydawnictwo Literackie.
