The Baltic Chemistry Conference student-doctoral initiative has been awarded the ProJuvenes student community award in the 'University without Borders' category. The competition is organised annually by the Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland.
The award-winning conference took place on May 27-28, 2023, in an online format and brought together speakers representing 26 research centres from 11 different countries. The international conference was organised by members of the Chemistry Scientific Circle UG, the Student Self-Government Council of the Faculty of Chemistry UG, and the UG Doctoral School of Science and Life Sciences Council.
The quality of the event was overseen by a Scientific Committee consisting of scientists from the University of Gdańsk, Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University, the Institute of Cancer Research in the UK, the University of St Andrews in the UK and Yachay Tech University in Ecuador. During the conference, the keynote lectures were given by prof. dr hab. Elżbieta Jankowska from the University of Gdańsk and dr Chiara Da Pieve from the Institute of Cancer Research in the UK.
