The Polish Academy of Sciences has announced the commencement of the election procedure for new members of the PYA. Candidates - young researchers holding at least a doctoral degree and distinguished by outstanding scientific achievements - can be submitted until the end of February 2024. The final selection will be made by the PAS General Assembly.

The Polish Young Academy was established in 2010 to activate the community of young scientists. It organises debates and conferences, plays an opinion-forming role, develops scientific programmes, disseminates ethical standards among young researchers and promotes their achievements.

Membership in this prestigious group is open to researchers under 38 years of age at the time of election who hold at least a doctoral degree and have a distinguished research record. The term of office of the PYA is 5 years; re-election is not possible.

Detailed information on the election and the nomination procedure can be found here (available in Polish).
