We know the winners of the 3rd edition of the 'Foreign Internship Programme for Young UG Scientists'

Dr inż. Beata Bajorowicz, dr Klaudia Godlewska, dr Mateusz Kosmol, and dr inż. Natalia Majewska - these are the scientists of the University of Gdańsk who found themselves on the list of laureates of the 3rd edition of the 'Foreign Internship Programme for Young UG Scientists'.

‘We refer to the internship programme for young scientists as a working ticket to excellence.  We would like every young doctor to go to a leading centre for an internship of several months by default. It is an excellent starting point for a scientific career,' says UG Vice-Rector for Scientific Research prof. dr hab. Wiesław Laskowski.

In this year's edition of the programme, 13 applications were submitted: one in the humanities, three in the social sciences and nine in the science and life science.

The laureates of the third edition were (surnames in alphabetical order):

  • dr inż. Beata Bajorowicz from the Faculty of Chemistry (scientific discipline - chemical sciences, research centre - Ghent University)
  • dr Klaudia Godlewska from the Faculty of Chemistry (scientific discipline - chemical sciences, research centre - Technische Universität Dresden)
  • dr Mateusz Kosmol from the Faculty of Law and Administration (scientific discipline - legal sciences, research centre - The University of Edinburgh)
  • dr inż. Natalia Majewska from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics (scientific discipline - physical sciences, research centre - Kyoto University).

The competition is intended for academic teachers employed at the University of Gdańsk in the group of research and teaching or research staff who hold a doctoral degree awarded within seven years prior to the date of application for participation in the Programme and have been invited to carry out a research internship at one of the academic centres listed in the current edition of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (Shanghai ranking for the fields of science and natural sciences and social sciences) and THE World University Ranking by subject (World University Rankings by Subject | Times Higher Education) for the field of humanities.

The programme provides the winners with funds for their internship to cover the costs of their stay, travel to and from the internship site, health, accident, and liability insurance, as well as possible legalisation of their stay - in the form of a lump sum of PLN 800.00 for each day of their stay.
