Dr Katarzyna Pastuszak, from the Performing Arts Research Unit of the Institute of English and American Studies and the Between.Pomiędzy Research Studio at UG, has received a double Cultural Scholarship from the City of Gdańsk for the year 2024.

The scholarship gala took place on March 26, 2024, at the Institute of City Culture. Before the diplomas were handed out, the scholarship recipients were congratulated by the Mayor of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. The diplomas were presented by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Gdańsk for Sustainable Development and Investment Piotr Grzelak and the Chairman of the Culture and Promotion Committee of the Gdańsk City Council Andrzej Stelmasiewicz.
As part of the Cultural Scholarship for an artistic project, dr Katarzyna Pastuszak will realise a choreographic performance entitled 'Spore fantasy (sf)', which grows out of the artist-researcher's long-standing fascination with the kingdom of fungi and addresses the relationship between humans and microorganisms. The project will be created in collaboration with Natalia Chylińska and will premiere in September 2024.
The second scholarship - the Mobility Fund Cultural Scholarship - will allow Katarzyna Pastuszak to participate in the international choreographic project Braiding Time, Memory and Water under the direction of Sue Schroeder, which will premiere on October 19, 2024, in Atlanta (USA).
Sincere congratulations to the Laureate!
