Support for the Humanities UG

The Support Programme for the Gdańsk Humanities aimed at academic teachers at the University of Gdańsk has been launched. The activities of the Excellence Initiative - Research University programme and the Programme for Support of Gdańsk Humanities were announced in his election programme by prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of UG.

The programme is addressed to academic teachers conducting research activities in the humanities. It is the third programme implemented under the Research University Excellence Initiative. - 'It aims to raise the profile of Gdańsk's humanities in Poland and worldwide. We hope that with its help, unique works and projects will be created at the University of Gdańsk' - says prof. dr hab. Wiesław Laskowski, UG Vice-Rector for Scientific Research.

Under the programme, it will be possible to apply for co-financing of individual or team scientific undertakings planned for a period of 12 to 40 months.

Within the programme, a single subsidy for the implementation of a scientific project will be granted for each year in the amount of up to PLN 40,000 for individual applicants and up to PLN 200,000 for team projects.

The funding can be used to cover costs such as remuneration for external implementers of the research project, conducting scientific research, purchase of necessary equipment, materials, software, literature, commissioning surveys and analyses. In addition, these funds can be used to finance participation in foreign and domestic conferences, workshops, scientific symposia and foreign and domestic business trips of a research character and scientific queries. The regulations also mention the costs of visits by external collaborators for research or consultations, translation of prepared texts into foreign languages, text or graphic editing services and publishing costs.

- 'We will support our lecturers of humanities. There are many excellent scientists and researchers among them and we should help them in their scientific development,' - concludes prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the University of Gdańsk.

The project may start at the earliest on May 1, 2021, and end by August 31, 2024. The end of accepting enrolment applications is March 15, 2021, at 2 p.m.
