The University of Gdańsk Rector Election for the 2020-2024 term will take place on 17 March 2020. The University Electoral College will select among the candidates appointed by the University of Gdańsk Council.
Pursuant to the regulations implementing the Act on Higher Education from 3 July 2018 and the University of Gdańsk Status, every member of the current Senate (representatives of Faculties, students, doctoral students and other units) constitute the University of Gdańsk Electoral College.
The University of Gdańsk Rector Election for the 2020-2024 term is conducted by the University Electoral Commission, headed by prof. UG dr hab. Mariusz Bogusz. University Electoral Commission was established on 28 November 2019, with the first session held on 12 December 2019.
On 28 February 2020 the University of Gdańsk Council, following a favorable opinion from the University of Gdańsk Senate, appointed two candidates for the University of Gdańsk Rector for the 2020-2024 term: current Rector of the University of Gdańsk Professor Jerzy Piotr Gwizdała and current Vice-rector for Student Affairs and Education Professor Arnold Kłonczyński.
The University Electoral Commission decided to hold an open meeting between the University of Gdańsk community and the candidates for Rector, on 5 March 2020, 11am, in the Lecture Hall of The Main Library of the University of Gdańsk, at 53 Wita Stwosza street, Gdańsk Oliwa.
The University of Gdańsk Electoral College meeting and the following selection of the University of Gdańsk Rector for the 2020-2024 term will take place on 17 March 2020.
