Ministry of Science and Higher Education class suspension extension till 10 April

On 21 March 2020 the Minister of Science and Higher Education(MNiSW) decided to extend the suspension of higher education institutions till 10 April 2020. The decision was made due to Polish State declaring state of emergency over pandemic.

We would like to remind you that Rector’s Ordrer of 10 March 2020 on indefinite suspension of classes at the University of Gdańsk remains in force. The date of 10 April is only an anticipated date, since returning to normal university operation will depend on the general epidemiological situation.

MNiSW announced that soon the regulation specifying the existing arrangements regarding the operation of universities during the coronavirus crisis will be issued.

The University of Gdańsk operation has been assured. 73 percent of classes take place remotely, with the use of UG education portal, using the MS Teams service or with any other form of remote teaching allowed at specific faculties. MS Teams platform (recommended for remote classes) online training is now available for UG employees. Training content and schedule are available in Employees’ Portal communication and at Teams Members online directory:

The work of administration – Rector’s office, faculties and other units – also take place remotely. The physical presence of the employees at the university premises  is limited to the minimum necessary.
