The online meeting with dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński prof. UG, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education and mgr Beata Królczyk, Head of UG Recruitment Office, which took place on July 8, provided University candidates with much valuable information. Students-to-be learned, among other things, how to apply to the University of Gdańsk, where to find educational offer and specific fields of study information, also how will new academic year look.
The online meeting, streamed on the University’s Facebook profile, took place at 11:00 am on July 8. The subject of the meeting was current UG admissions, the following panel answered related questions: dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński - prof. UG, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education; Beata Królczyk - Head of UG Recruitment Office; Maciej Ciemny – Head of UG Scholarship Service Center for Students and PhD Students and Łukasz Bień from UG Students’ Parliament Office.
Before the meeting started, multiple questions had been already addressed to the panel, like what were the most popular fields of study during last year’s admissions, what new fields of study launch in October 2020, what sort of documents should be submitted to admissions committee, what scholarships are available to students.
After welcoming guests of the event, Professor Kłonczyński shared some facts regarding the University.
- Each year 30 thousand candidates compete to get admitted to the University of Gdańsk. It is the source of great pride for us, that so many people see their future at our University. The University of Gdańsk comprises 11 faculties, providing education in 89 fields of study, full-time and part-time studies, at the level of first or second cycle studies, or within comprehensive (long cycle) five-year master's programs – said Professor Arnold Kłonczyński.

The starting date of admission process is a significant piece of information for those interested in studying at the University of Gdańsk. Let us remind you that the Internet Candidate Registration System (IRK) was launched on 1 July 2020.

It is worth nothing that the University of Gdańsk is the largest University in the region, a rapidly developing institution that combines traditional values with modern character. 25 thousand students, doctoral students and post-graduate students currently study at the eleven faculties.
