The project Boosting Digital Excellence and Governance Autonomy of Universities in the Countries of East Partnership (BEAUCOUP) has received funding of €69,759 from the Erasmus+ programme. The initiative aims to stimulate the digital transformation of universities and, consequently, schools, kindergartens and education in general in the European Union's eastern neighbours, such as Ukraine.
The EU partners intend to share their experiences and solutions that have improved their university e-governance, technical support, digital skills, learning with and through technology and teacher training strategies for a future technology-based world. Despite cultural and social differences, these are areas of great importance to both Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
The main objectives of the project are:
- to improve the technical base of the partner universities by increasing server capacity and launching new digital laboratories;
- identifying the level of digital competence of today's teachers;
- organising a more student-centred educational environment;
- increasing the digital content creation and MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) skills of university teachers;
- better on-campus and remote student access to high-quality information and methodologically improved materials and laboratories;
- promotion of digital competencies of in-service and future pre-service and school teachers through updated and new courses and the launch of MOOCs;
- improving the digital skills and professional competencies of students taking the new courses and preparing them for the future technology-based learning environment;
- rapidly improving teachers' digital competencies through MOOCs.
The project will run for 36 months in a consortium of 20 partners from, among others, Estonia, Slovenia, Spain, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The project leader is the University of Tartu from Estonia. The University of Gdańsk is a partner in the project.
