The latest temporary exhibition, prepared by the University of Gdańsk Museum, entitled 'Droga do Uniwersytetu. Uniwersytet Gdański i jego poprzedniki 1945-1970', presents selected fragments of the history of the Higher School of Education in Gdańsk, the Higher School of Maritime Commerce, the Higher School of Economics in Sopot and the first year of operations of the University of Gdańsk. Symbolically, it concludes the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the University of Gdańsk.

It is a synthetic description of the university's history based on documents, memories and photographs found in the collections of the University of Gdańsk Museum and the WSHM, WSE and UG Economics Faculty Alumni Association. It also presents fragments of student culture on the example of the University Choir, the Jantar Song and Dance Ensemble and the UG Academic Sports Association, whose organisational traditions stem from the activities of the University's predecessors.

Due to the epidemiological situation, the exhibition is presented exclusively for employees of the University of Gdansk, from March 22 to April 22, 2021, in the lobby of the Rector's Office of the University of Gdansk, 8 Jana Bażyńskiego Street, Gdansk.
