The University of Gdańsk made it to the podium in three categories in the 12th edition of the Genius Universitatis 2025 marketing competition aimed at all Polish higher education institutions.

The final gala of the competition took place on March 7 during the International Education Exhibition at the EXPO in Warsaw. 32 universities entered this year's edition, presenting 95 competition entries in 9 categories. Marketing and promotional activities prepared by the Communication and Promotion Centre of the University of Gdańsk were recognised in three of them:

  • 1st place in the Press Advertising category for the campaign ‘Memories can’t be generated. You can create them with us’
  • 1st place in the Genius AD category for the campaign promoting the BaltArctic Research Cruise
  • 3rd place in the Promotional Film category for the campaign ‘Memories can’t be generated. You can create them with us’

The image campaign ‘Memories can’t be generated. You can create them with us’ was the only AI campaign used by a university in Poland. We wrote about its assumptions here. You can find out more about the BaltArctic Research Cruise, prepared in cooperation with the European University of the Seas Project Office - SEA-EU, on the website of the cruise.

The awards were accepted on behalf of the CPC and SEA-EU by the Deputy Director of the UG Communication and Promotion Centre, dr Tomasz Czuba, and team members Agnieszka Beck and Iwona Kuklińska.

‘We are very proud of these awards because they were entirely original campaigns and really big projects, drawing attention on the one hand to scientific achievements and on the other to an important social issue. I would like to thank the entire team of the University of Gdańsk Communication and Promotion Centre. It was a joint effort and a challenge that we faced thanks to the excellent cooperation of people with different, perfectly complementary competences. We are very pleased that our efforts have also been recognised outside the University,’ says the Deputy Director of the CPC, dr Tomasz Czuba.

The competition entries were judged by a panel of experts led by the chairman, prof. dr hab. Artur Krajewski. The judging panel consisted of:

  • Joanna Bednarkiewicz, Publicis Worldwide
  • Bartosz Dembiński, bartoszdembinski.pl
