“The search for targets of immune system targeted therapy and the search for resistance mechanisms of current immunotherapy methods” was the topic of the XVIII Polpharma Foundation scientific competition to fund research projects.

The competition saw 16 applications, all of which were reviewed.

On 10 October 2019, the Scientific Council of the Foundation, based on the evaluations and own assessment, ranked the projects and presented the list to the Management of the Foundation.

Among the three selected awardees was dr hab. Sylwia Rodziewicz-Motowidło, the University of Gdańsk Professor from the Department of Biomedical Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry, for her project, “Peptide immunomodulators as next generation PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitors”, it received PLN 539,280.00 in funding.
