On Monday 13 January the Mayor of Sopot Scholarship for PhD Students was awarded to three laureates including two doctoral students from the University of Gdańsk: Monika Lipińska (Faculty of Biology) and Dorota Sakowicz (Faculty of History) for their scientific achievements in the 2018/2019 academic year. It is Monika Lipińska's second Mayor of Sopot Scholarship in a row.

The scholarship is awarded annually to support research leading to the development of Sopot or advances in science. This year the scholarship amount was PLN 5,000.
