Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development dr hab. Sylwia Mrozowska, prof. UG received an award for the University of Gdańsk for its result in the most prestigious ranking of higher education institutions in the world - THE World University Rankings 2023.

We would like to remind you that in the latest edition of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR) 2023, published on October 12, 2022, the University of Gdańsk moved up one place and was ranked fourth in the category of classical universities in Poland (after the Universities: Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) ahead of Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń. In the overall ranking of Polish higher education institutions, on the other hand, UG achieved a high, tenth position among all 32 ranked institutions.

Almost 1 800 universities from 104 countries were ranked in this year's edition of the ranking, including 32 from Poland. for the 2023 edition, more than 121 million citations from over 15.5 million research publications were analysed and survey responses from 40 000 scientists from around the world were taken into account.

The presentation of awards to Polish universities ranked in the world's most prestigious ranking of universities took place on November 22 in Warsaw.
