The jury of the photo contest ‘The Sea and Us’ (Polish stage)– organized by the University of Gdańsk within the scope of the common international contest carried out by all SEA-EU (European Universities of the Seas) consortium partners - evaluated photographic works submitted for the 1st (local) stage of the contest on 23 November 2020. The contest saw 28 participants in total, who presented 58 works. The following persons received the largest number of points and placed on the podium:

3rd place

prize: smartphone tripod selfie stick worth approx. PLN 130
The contest has been carried out by six SEA-EU partner universities, UBO in France, UG in Poland, UCA n Spain, CAU in Germany UNIST in Croatia and UM in Malta.
Photographs submitted to the contest had to illustrate the link between humans and the sea. Some possible inspirations were:
- Living sustainably by, from and with the sea
- Maritime and cultural heritage
- Maritime and coastal cities
- Nature and Human
- Seascape and Landscape
Photographers aimed to promote the territory where they study and live.
The European voting (at consortium level) for the best photo among top 18 selected during the 1st (local) stage, will take place in January of 2021. The winner at the European Level will be awarded with a 350€ grant for sustainable travel across Europe.
