KPD RECEIVES EQUIPMENT GRANT FOR THIRD YEAR IN A ROW

Following the decision by Mister of Science and Higher Education the Collection of Plasmids and Microorganisms (KPD) of UG Faculty of Biology received PLN 3,200,000.00 in funding to implement the investment grant called: Equipment for phenotypic analysis of microorganisms and prokaryotic protein characterization (decision of Minister of Science and Higher Education no 7056/IA/SP/2020  of 27 May 2020)

The funding application was prepared by Anna-Karina Kaczorowska, Doctor of Medical Sciences, the Collection of Plasmids and Microorganisms curator.

The implementation of the above grant is spread over two years. Purchases of a Platform for comprehensive characterization of prokaryotic proteins including research equipment for protein-ligand complex binding affinity with the use of microscale thermophoresis and a research equipment for proteins’ stability and aggregate properties analysis with the use of nano differential scanning fluorimetry are intended this year. Purchases of an automated pipetting system to complement our existing equipment (sequencer) and a system for phenotypic analysis of microorganisms with the use of microarrays technology are intended in 2021.
