New Members of the National Academy of Sciences (PAN) selected

The General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences selected New Members at the 140th session held in Warsaw, on 5 December 2019.

During the December session, the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences selected 38 full members and 51 correspondent members. The selected researchers represent nine Polish scientific institutions, among them researchers from the University of Gdańsk receiving this honor.

The Full Member of the National Academy of Sciences from the University of Gdańsk:

Prof. dr hab. Ryszard Horodecki from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics (Exact and Earth Science)

 

The Correspondent Members of the National Academy of Sciences from the University of Gdańsk:

Prof. dr hab. Jerzy Zajdało from the Faculty of Law and Administration 

Prof. dr hab. Marek Żukowski from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics (Exact and Earth Science)

For the first time the election took place according to the new electoral law,  the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Professor Jerzy Duszyński chaired the meeting.
